@antipodean Two things IMO. NZ just isn't as good anymore as they used to be and other countries have become better since it's an Olympic sport (more funding).

Not sure what the problem with NZ is. Coaching? Some players just not good enough? Probably both.

By the way, Fiji absolutely smashed England (52 - 14); Australia couldn't beat Kenya (19 - 19) and Samoa beat Canada (21 - 19). All other scores as usual thus far.

Why are we not very good at 7's currently? Previously we've always been able to cover for SR rugby players, but this time it seems we really lack for nous and physicality.
