I think Hansen and co have been waiting for the opportunity to play SBW and Goodhue to see how it goes.

I thought Crotty and Goodhue worked well and given this year seems very much like 2014 v2.0 the coaches have been willing to try quite a few different variations.

I think they know from the last few seasons that SBW/Crotty, Crotty/ALB, SBW/ALB, Crotty/Goodhue combos are good enough. It’s the other possible variations that potentially look good that we haven’t seen because of injury.

I'm pretty sure Goodhue is a part of the preferred equation - just a matter of working out who the best 12 is to slot in between him and Barrett.

That glandular fever is a right pisser to the plans!

But I've been quite vocal about who should be 12. He played there for the NZ u20s and was Mitre 10 player of the year in that position. But nobody will listen dammit!

As I said before, TJ Faiane might lack some size at test level.

Joe Moody wasn't used as a ball-carrier but had a very good game otherwise. The scrum was dominant and he made 10 tackles. Glad he is fit again and signed on until 2022.

Is Franks the best TH option now given the rise of Tu'ungafasa and return of Laulala?

Part of an awesome scrum but doesn't seem to offer much else. Is his lifting enough to compensate for his lack of impact hitting it up and defensively?

All of the above is very likely bollocks but is a genuine question from someone who played in the front row once as seven year old and so has no fucking idea

@dogmeat Laulala is our no 1 imo. He's the equal of Franks as a scrummager and is better around the park. Franks has also missed a lot of tackles this year and offers nothing as a ball carrier.

Savea, Taylor, BB (although not much between him and Rieko).

Honourable mention to BS and SB.

Ben Smith was outstanding. For a player who is declining, as most people say, he was very sharp and the most dangerous back in attack.

@cgrant 100% agree. We will watch that game in four or five years time to remind us how good a player Ben Smith was.

BFA is not the biggest, not the quickest, but makes up for it with speed of thought, outstanding technique and determination. Surely a key part of the All Blacks side through to RWC 2019 if he stays fit

BFA looks to be in a similar mode to DC heading into his last RWC. All the ability, skill and knowledge to get there without busting a gut. When required will be able to still change up and play an absolute blinder.

Without getting too mn5, he looks to be in bloody good physical condition.
