Interesting team. Nicholls had one hell of a year! So did Holder by the looks.

Looking at those bowling figures you must summaise the Windies mush have play a fair number of games against Zimbabwe and Bangladesh plus some token tests against Kenya and Afghanistan.

That was my thought as well (haven't looked it up yet).
Those are mighty impressive stats for Holder.

EDIT: Not sure of the time period involved but Windies played the Bangles twice. In the one test Holder played against India he did get a cheap Michelle and a 50 though

Yeah it focusus on average more than quantity of runs as well, without taking into account opposition.

I like that there are a few Kiwis there though :smiling_face_with_sunglasses: was a good year for us.

Just checked Holders career stats. Definitely in the 'very good' all rounder category now for sure. Sub 30 for a bowler is obviously a great yardstick and a cheeky 30 with the willow is mighty handy too.

Lyons inclusion is proof that the world, not just NZ, is obsessed with having a spinner no matter how ordinary he may be.

....and yes, how good to have three batsmen. KW is almost a given these days but the other two have done shit I couldn't have dreamed they could. Shot boys.

Was reading on espncricinfo and came along this gem:

Ross Taylor has an average of 93.60 and a strike rate of 89, across 15 ODI innings since December 2017.

                      Good read that.

With him alongside a dead set legend like KW and a bunch of very, very good players like Rossco, Boult, Southee, Wagner and our two world XI batsmen who have improved out of sight this year I'm not exactly sure how anyone can claim this isn't our best team of all time.

@No-Quarter That is a pretty shit team if it's supposed to be the World XI.

I'd have to do some research, but offhand Williamson, Kohli and Rabada are the only ones I'd have had at the forefront of my mind.

Bumrah would be about the first guy I'd pick!

It's the issue of only going on averages. They can be bloody misleading

I wish 'they' would come up with some sort of graphic that shows field placements in real time. It could be displayed at the top left of the screen so it doesn't interfer with normal coverage. It bugs me not knowing where the field is, especially when it's hit in the air.

You'd think this would be pretty easy with today's technology. The players would probably already all be hooked up to some sort of GPS monitoring system anyway would they not?

Meanwhile, we're batting first again and are currently 125/2 after 23 overs.

We lost both openers early on to be 31/2, so good recovery mission happening from our two senior pros

                                Kane 52 (59)
                                Rosco 46 (60)

According to some bloke on Cricinfo, the record is 9 held by Javed Miandad.
Rossco is now second equal with none other than Andrew Jones

6th game in a row where Rosco has gone past 50..
                                          Is that a record?

According to some bloke on Cricinfo, the record is 9 held by Javed Miandad.
Rossco is now second equal with none other than Andrew Jones

Kane also has got 6 in a row before, and three other blokes from other countries.
