I don't think I've cheered on an Indian Side since before Ganguly was in the team. However there's a lot to like about the team (not the admin though - pack of fluffybunnies) but particularly that Jaiswal whippersnapper

Yeah any time England start wanking on about being world beaters is the time I cheer for the other team

It's been an interesting game and series. As per the last test, England really had a grip on the game after 2 days, winning the toss and posting a reasonable total on an unpredictable pitch. Firstly India were 177/7 and made 307 and then from 110/3, they collapsed to 145 all out when another 50 runs could have been critical.
Still not a sure thing as the ball shoots or pops when it hits a crack but there is pressure on the spinners when the target is not massive. Have been impressed with the 3 England spinners - but young and inexperienced players, they have coped well - no doubt helped by the captaincy of Stokes and showing faith in them even when they get taken for runs. India's depth is huge - Jaiswal, Jurel, Sarfaraz have all come in recently and performed.

India three down at lunch, still need 74 with the pitch playing some tricks.
You'd expect they'll get these, but the next hour should be fun viewing!

Yeah it’s ebbs and flows. England have produced some of my favourite ever players. Beefy, Gooch, Robin Smith, Alec Stewart, Bob Willis……but ( and to be fair it’s very likely the journos fault ) this wankathon about Bazball and talking up players who one the whole are probably a bit average really irks me.

But India are throwing out some seriously talented players at the moment - they have a conveyor belt of talent. Cannot wait to see IND AUS when it comes; will be another clash of the heavyweights.

Yeah fair call. The British press does have an amazing ability to make me hate their teams it must be said. I’m probably being harsh.
…..and McCullum has obviously motivated them plenty. Some pretty ordinary players did have some big moments of late. Root is class and Anderson keeps trucking along

Ashwins bowling stats are quite frankly ridiculous.
Add in the fact he is an extremely handy batsman and you have an absolutely world class player on paper.
Or do you ? Fairly large gap between his home and away stats…….
Same with Jadeja, having both on the same team just isn’t fair.
( definitely in India )

There was a similar one this morning!
Not an easy pitch at all and Jadeja and Safaraz bobbled the trophy immediately after lunch - to the extent England probably had their noses back in front - but Gill and Jurel have done really well to guide this home.

I started watching after 4 down and to be honest, the pitch seemed to be behaving pretty well and the batters never looked in much trouble. Stokes deserves a lot of credit for his captaincy and the way he has handled his young spinners - he's shown faith in them and not been scared off by the odd bad ball. The trouble is that they may not get a look in for the home tests, somewhat like the NZ spinners.
Root should have stuck at number 3 a few years ago like Kane did instead of running scared to number 4. He's the best batsman and that batsman should be at 3.

Not always the case. Lara often batted four and Tendulkar always did ( Root doesn’t have a Dravid equivalent in the team though )
