If you were to pick an all time fast scoring NZ ODI XI it would be this - using the highest strike rate in each position in the batting order (min 10 innings in that position). 3 wicket keepers to choose from and bowling from Boult, Southee, Adams, Anderson, Michael Bracewell, Ravindra. Slowest scorers in brackets.

    Ravindra 110.73 (Howarth 45.84)
    Munro 108.20 (Edgar 49.66)
    B. McCullum 85.28 (Sinclair 56.39)
    Mitchell 95.54 (Reid 50.93)
    Anderson 134.31 (Burgess 56.25)
    Ronchi 123.57 (Vincent 53.56)
    M Bracewell 123.52 (Harris 66.98)
    Smith 111.40 (Larsen 54.63)
    Adams 122.04 (Pringle 57.53)
    Southee 103.03 (Morrison 43.37)
    Boult 78.22 (O'Connor 27.84)

@KiwiPie looks like they'll either get 450, or be rolled for under a hundy.

Andre Adams was criminally underused by NZ. Not sure why - personality clashes?

        From his Wiki page
Adams debuted at the highest level for New Zealand in March 2002, but a bout of back injuries on the West Indies tour of 2002 allowed Jacob Oram to move ahead of him in the pecking order, limiting him to one Test. Following that, question marks were raised about his attitude.

        and
However, this was overshadowed by his one-month suspension for grabbing and shaking the helmet of Central Districts batsman Bevan Griggs.
(presumably it was his batting helmet ....)

He would have made a fortune playing the T20 leagues in the Chris Jordan role if he had been 10 years younger.

@Cyclops yeah, I imagine his strike rate for his last year or 2 was probably closer to 150 though. Damn he was exciting to watch open the batting at that time.

From memory that was the highest first class score by a left handed batsman as well..until that 'so so' batsman from the West Indies did ok..

From the start of 2015 he played 27 ODIs and his strike rate was 154.91.

hey @Chris any insight in to whether or not Ussie just wanted the weekend off to go to the motor racing, not really expecting Qld to need him again this season?

I can’t say too much but no record of any injury.

@MN5 Pommy social media site aimed at lads under 25.

Can't take it seriously when they include Dhoni. Must have a lot of Indian subscribers.

Despite their records I wouldn't have Kallis or Lara in a top 10 either. As for Iron Bottom - almost as much of a joke as Dhoni.

                              You’re dead to me……..

In terms of a mercurial individual I can’t think of anyone better than Lara ( number one on this list the obvious exception)

Beefy is worth a mention for the first half of his career in which he was pretty untouchable. He should have retired around 1987 or so though……

Dhoni is the obvious ridiculous call here….

Also the complete and utter lack of fast bowlers.

It's top 10 of all time. It could be there aren't sufficient superlatives to describe a player and he still misses out.

I think I have found where ladsbible got that list from. The BBC did a poll to coincide with the 2019 CWC (shame it was cancelled)

If you look at the list below its a complete lift

                                310ced0b-6323-47e0-9622-c01acfc8f606-image.png

Listeners of the Beebs Asian Networkvoted for their favourite from a shortlist of 30 players compiled by a panel of experts, including Radio 1 DJ and co-host of 5 Live’s Tailenders Greg James, former English cricketer Isa Guha, IPL host Shonali Nagrani, and Asian Network’s Noreen Khan.

                                Hardly surprising then that

Pretty sure those 5 are locked in, hard to argue with any of those
Dhoni is super laughable, hes lucky to be top 10 Indian player of all time let alone World Top 10.

It's top 10 of all time. It could be there aren't sufficient superlatives to describe a player and he still misses out.

I think I have found where ladsbible got that list from. The BBC did a poll to coincide with the 2019 CWC (shame it was cancelled)

If you look at the list below its a complete lift

Listeners of the Beebs Asian Networkvoted for their favourite from a shortlist of 30 players compiled by a panel of experts, including Radio 1 DJ and co-host of 5 Live’s Tailenders Greg James, former English cricketer Isa Guha, IPL host Shonali Nagrani, and Asian Network’s Noreen Khan.

                                    Hardly surprising then that

                                    • nearly half come from the subcontinent

                                    • apart from Bradman and Sobers all played at least some of their career during the last 30 years or so

                                    • there's three Poms that you could definitely argue against

Well yeah, Cook and Anderson impress with longevity more than anything.

I'm a Beefy fan, his final stats don't do justice to how amazing he was early in his career but it is hard to gauge if he should be there or not.

Dhoni ( previously mentioned ), Kapil Dev, Chris Gayle and Jayawardene are taking the piss.

Those two had excellent records but others on paper were/are more impressive.

They're there for swagger, impact, charisma etc as much as anything.

No I think that's a good thing, it'd be fucken boring.

These lists are always biased towards batsmen. Not one fiery fast bowler in the top five apparently.
