I am happy with the Magpies in the Canes squad - probably the pick of the bunch for me. Hopefully they re-sign Walker-Leawere. He was one of the Canes best this year. TBH I can't really see him going anywhere else, it's not like he wasn't given game time at the Canes.
Really liking the look of Toala - he could be a great impact sub next year with his ability to cover plenty of positions. I suspect long term he should be able to lock down a starting position.
Two further players I'd like the Canes to pick up are McLutchie & Rakete-Stones.

Ozich pointed out Allardice and Evans will both be back for Saturday's away match against second placed Bay of Plenty. However, the Magpies will likely miss the services of Maori All Black and Hurricanes lock Isaia Walker Leawere. Injury/illness update after last Saturday's game:
Stacey Ili collected a stinger on the shoulder and is the only injury concern.
Ash Dixon had a stomach bug (so I assume he'll be available on Friday for the Counties game).Classy, no-excuses reaction from Ozich to the loss.
