Not as off topic as Manfred Mann

Some consolation available by following the Poms getting butt-fucked in Barbados Rolled for 77 Windies currently 280 odd in front with 10 wickets in hand - still Day 2

I went to bed in 2019, woke up and it was the mid-1980s!

Let's hope India has to bat first today.

Virat choosing to bat first clearly for practice purposes, almost taking NZ for granted a bit.

India on top. Will be tough for Sodhi and de Grandhomme to bowl to set batsmen.

NZ have done well not to let it get away from them. So far.

It just feels like the match is in a holding pattern. Either waiting for India to get out of second gear or NZ to take a couple of wickets.

If this continues, we will be looking at chasing 350+.

Stasguru tells me that NZ has given up 350 plus in ODI cricket nine times, for 1 win and 8 losses.

The highest score we have given up in NZ is 392 in Christchurch to India on 8 March 2009, when Tendulkar made 163 (off 133 balls)

Taylor, Dhoni and Guptill all played in that match.

That bouncer was 146kmph. Too quick, very good delivery and highlights the point of difference Lockie can bring.

Awful miss by Latham, gift 4 runs.

Terrible last 2 overs, 34 runs clobbered from them.

Need Munro and Guptill to stand up here.

We did well to limit them to 324 but could have limited them to less. I give ourselves a fair chance of getting these runs.

Right on all counts, Gunner. We'd clawed things back to within the realms of par and then let it get away by bowling some goobers.

Let's see whether Guppy and Munro can get us away to a decent start. A "Guptill special" would be nice, but I'm not holding my breath on recent form.

                                        We can't have 20/2!
