What’s the f’ing point of giving guys 2 or 3 minutes?
I’d love to get an honest answer from a coach on this one.
Because sitting on the bench for an entire game sucks, giving guys just a few minutes means they can blow of some steam.

Something to do with players getting injured more often in the last ten mins to isn’t it? Might be protecting some players.

My point was Moulds has to be at least as good as Parsons at lineout To get ahead of him. He clearly isn’t.

theyve had guys sit on the becnh for 80 in other games this year...must be a game plan thing

@Kirwan that’s a point of view. Another would be that after 40 minutes Parsons starts walking. Any one would be better off the bench.

I ain’t arguing, just saying that they are picking the better thrower for an important set piece. Moulds has had years to improve and three coaches to impress.

@taniwharugby sure it's going to happen some times, but is the norm for everyone to get a go. So leaving a player in the bench is not ideal, even if he only gets a couple of minutes

Could be true, but by that stage I’d already be thinking ‘fuck you’, a couple of measly minutes wouldn’t change that

Akira made errors but by fuck did he stand up against a big Saffa pack.

@Kirwan Parsons is a better lineout thrower (don’t disagree) but he is also a slug around the field. Why have a bench and not use it? Especially when hooker is such an energy sapping position. The selection of players both for the squad and match day have been issues for years.

Our bench is really making a mark in games now, the second half injection of three All Blacks is working well. Four I guess if you include Pulu.

Blues looked to be enjoying fucking people up on D which was the best part of the match for me. Pat T's 52nd minute annihilation of Bruno Elizabeth was just fucking sumptuous.
plenty of workons though, ruck ball retention especially. Blues were living off scraps due to fuckups mainly from there for the entire match.
ps Alan Parsons can fuck off and take his fucken Project with him.
