Bayern Munich were deserved winners. Not as spectacular as their humiliation of Barcelona but still effective.

75% of the club is owned by the fans. Most of the rest by Adidas, Audi and Allianz.

come on. They are the 4th highest club in Europe in terms of Revenue. Lets not get all "one for the little guys" here.

Most importantly, their revenue is twice that of the next highest Club in Germany, hence their ability to hoover talent.

@canefan Bayern Munich Club President is Herbert Hainer, former CEO of Adidas, who in 2009 agreed a long time extension of the sponsorship deal with NZR. He obviously used to being around incredibly successful sports teams.

Do they have a rich Arab or Russian pouring money into the club in the form of suspicious personal loans or outlandish income derived from state owned airlines linked to the club's owners?

fuck, they are doing well to still be getting money out of him

i find the pissing contests about where European football clubs get their money to be pretty funny.

The amounts are obscene, and in most cases, the ones able to generate huge revenues are only able to because they were lucky enough to be succesful when international support exploded in the late 90s. And by fuck haven't those clubs done all they can to ring fence themselves and ensure no one else ever gets a seat at the top table.

Real Madrid are owned by the supporters but they got a massive bung in 2007 from the Spanish government who bought their former training ground at a massively inflated price.

FC Barcelona is a registered association, although it receives sponsorship from the Qatari royal family.

Juventus is owned by the Agnelli family who also control Fiat, Ferrari, Lancia, Alfa Romeo and Chrysler, La Stampa and The Economist.

RB Leipzig were only founded in 2008 and made the finals of the Champions League. They are 99% owned by the Austrian energy drink company Red Bull.

Let's not pretend that Bayern Munich are paupers. They have the 6th highest average annual player salary, just behind PSG.

No one said they were paupers or morally pure.

But I prefer their model of finance to clubs with obvious links to authoritarian governments and kleptocracy.

Lots of dirty money gets laundered through football clubs.

Harry Maguire given a 21 month and ten sentence but suspended for three years. Lucky to escape jail, but I suspect his lawyers will be appealing that.

Messi to Man City? It's a possibility now.

Suarez looks like he is on the market as well.
