Apparently Canes training cancelled yesterday and today due to a player showing 'symptoms'.
Gee the top brass will be on tenterhooks waiting on the results!!Considering there are currently no cases in Wellington it will be quite a feat to catch covid19
Catching a ball has been an issue for them at times (looking at you Brad), so yes, very unlikely.
"toasterhands" is arguably an even better nickname than "Suitcase".....jeez for every JC or JK theres any number of maligned blindsides in NZ.

Gee the top brass will be on tenterhooks waiting on the results!!I'm assuming a cough or a sneeze ? fucken hell, there isn't a live case from here to Masterton......how ridiculous.

Maligned for a reason though.
Didn't he play more at 8 for the 'canes? I can't remember.

@Snowy can't argue with that. The funny thing was that he was part of the Black Sox U19 Softball team so you would think he would have had some sort of catching ability.

This sounds like James Marshall is out for the season.
Excited to be giving this a crack while I rehab for the next 9 months. Heaps of amazing people in sport with unreal stories to be told. #podcast #whatalad
"This" is the podcast he's working on.
@Stargazer What really? Not that I’m disappointed quite the opposite...is that the injury he carried over from Japan?

I think there will be some flexibility with contracts given the Top 14 and the Japanese Top League have been suspended/cancelled.
-
@Duluth OK, I hadn't read that.
Cruden has got an extension so it seems to be on a case-by-case basis depending on the overseas club.

Does anyone know when Kobus van Wyk's contract expires? He was the one who was signed to fill Rayasi's spot.
@Stargazer He was signed only on a one year deal
-
-
@Stargazer why not?
-
@Stargazer why not?
@Canes4life Because the Canes don't need him. He isn't exactly a star player who adds a lot to the squad. I'd prefer a young NZ player who can be developed over a foreigner, who turns 29 before the 2021 season starts.
-
@Stargazer they don't need him? Lam won't be around for the whole comp, Lowe is pretty much always broken and Rayasi wasn't even meant to be in the Canes this year. Apart from Goosen, what other wing options do we have now that Vince Aso is at centre?
This is professional rugby, obviously the Canes didn't see anyone worthy enough in the NPC so they went for experience off-shore. Their faith has been rewarded with some quality shifts from Van Wyk pre covid so I don't see the big deal in them wanting to extend his stay.
