Four locks again in the 23.

    And we've got 3 opensides. 🤣

With that team, if Aussie beat us, we can stick a fork in the WC for this year.

All over Mary, wipe ya leg.

If we lose this game it really will be 1991 all over again.

So the master plan was Ardie at 6?

Let's hope this isn't one of those times when the team looks lethal on paper but doesn't work in practice. Fingers crossed.

Scotty Barrett is back. Ardie at 6 is weird. Finally we get ALB and Goodhue combo. Exciting team.

I'm hoping the numbers on the loosies don't reflect how they play. Could see Ardie at 8 for some attacking moves perhaps?

ScoBa covering 6 is useful too; means if someone goes down you can bring on Pat T and shift him out.

Midfield is tantalising. ALB is only 24, and has made damn near every post a winner. A real taletn who probably doesn't get the love he deserves at times.

During the Lions series ALB looked sluggish and down on confidence. A case of second season blues. But he’s developed his game more and more over these last two seasons. A long AB career ahead of him if he can stay fit.

I still think that him and Crotty is our best midfield.

I think it's the team all the fans have been asking for.
I actually liked the 10/15 combo, I think it has a lot of potential and doubted they would ever do it. Might as well keep going with it now. Best way to beat the rush in my opinion is to keep them guessing which playmaker the ball is going to, just gives you so many more options.

As long as we have moved on from the terrible handling last match, this should be a great game.

With the flankers you mean? That would make sense as it's a significant departure from the contemporary AB model of having a larger blindside flanker and a drastic move away from their search for a bruiser to replace the Squire / Kaino qualities.

You don't think Read will be playing that role in this loose forward trio?

I don’t think it really matters what numbers they have on their backs when it comes to these 3. They all have quite different games. I think we are rock solid in the tight with all 3 of them, my only concern is who is ranging out wide. Read hasn’t played that game for about 2 seasons. Cane doesn’t have the game out there, so it will have to be Ardie.

Todd is probably the best running/link player out of the four.

Right, so you move the most dynamic loose forward to where he will be the least effective, that makes total sense..arggh. Having all three of those guys on the park makes sense but you would have to think out of all three of them Ardie is probably the least equiped to play blindside.

                    Good team.
                    ABs by 50 to 60.

The one weakness of Savea's game is he does not hit hard in the tackle like Cane does. That has to mean Read will be playing the close in defense role of a typical 6.

YEah but so what. The one weakness of Cane's game is he does not carry the ball as well as Savea does

Which was the point I was making. Read moved into the tighter role once Squire became the no.6, the opposite of the roles of 6 and 8 when Kaino was there.

To be honest, Read doesn't have the speed anymore to range out wide. But Ardie's speed could be a real asset away from the traffic.

Saturday a bit chilly here - topping out at 16C at Homebush but still minimum of 5C.

So with Mrs TA away at her Girls' Weekend, I'll be minding the kids while wrapping up Subbies Rugby for the day, speeches and a boat race at the pub, then heading home to watch the game.

ABs by 24, having seen the teams. Two yellow cards for Australia in Latu and Thor.

On this day in 2015 I attended a Wallabies match where we beat the ABs 23-15. I think I remember SBW being utterly shit.

6 deg out your way? Thankfully I live in the city without the extremes - although crazy windy at the moment (well, not Wellington or Palmy windy but crazy for Sydney).

I don’t know why you’re complaining? Surely it increases the Wobs chances of winning.

6 deg out your way? Thankfully I live in the city without the extremes - although crazy windy at the moment (well, not Wellington or Palmy windy but crazy for Sydney).

The apparent temperature for the nation's capital won't get above zero from about 4pm this afternoon until 1pm Sunday.

More importantly the weather forecast looks good for Perth for Saturday

It's sort of slipped under the radar with the "Savea to 6" move (WTF for me, has he ever started a game at 6 for the Canes?), but "probably the AB's best player in 2018" has been dropped to the bench.

I'm not convinced by this side:

*Can Ben Smith really still play 14 at the highest level?
                                          *Is Savea really a 6?
*Does Bridge really add impact off the bench?
*If we're taking Laumape to Japan, and he's needed to start a game, is he up to it?

The props selection is going to be interesting. I think Laulala is most likely to get the chop. Looks like Todd can pack his bags for Japan.

Should be fun too watch...not least the JOC to 13 move.
