I was going to post Robson and Jerome’s Unchained Melody but some googling tells me they had 2 other number ones hits as well. No accounting for (bad) taste.

Does it matter where? Nena has had plenty of hits in Germany but hardly troubled the charts anywhere else except for this. Which was everywhere, all the time.
