They will leave it too long and end up with tyronn lue.

Both the Van Gundy's have been saying they want to coach again. Not the worst options.

Looking forward to a Steve Ballmer hyped up introduction regardless of who they go with.

They have a veteran team, so a development coach is not going to fit. Can't think who is out there right now. D'Antoni is not everyone's cup of tea but you can't dispute his record, he's proficient with guard based teams and off contract.... If I was him and LA called I'm jump ship in a heartbeat

D'Antoni has a worse playoff record than Doc Rivers! Clippers should steer well clear of him.

Just because it's a veteran team doesn't automatically mean they need a veteran coach. The Raptors were a veteran team and Nick Nurse worked out terrifically well.

Point nicely made. Just like player drafting, coach selection is a bit of a lottery

I would hope that Rivers is on the radar for OKC but D'Antoni can fuck right off.

As for the Clippers, I think Sam Cassell would be a great choice. I understand there are other more experienced coaches but he's been an assistant for what seems like an age. Time to step up.

Doc to the Rockets to join his son?

I don't know either, just that there is a vacancy at the Rockets. It looks like Austin is a free agent too.

Darryl Morey would be just the GM to do something huge like that. Can't see it unless he plans to ditch all his analytics and play with a real centre

It would be a huge admission of defeat from Morey though, he went balls deep on the small ball Harden experiment.

But I like it for both teams. An angry Embiid with an angry Westbrook would be fun to see. And Philly could be great with another shooter to help Simmons.

But mostly I just think it hasn't worked in either Houston or Philly so far, so why the heck not?

Isn't Morey on shaky ground himself due to the China comments at the beginning of the season?

                        I think he’ll survive.

Harden and Simmons would be good I reckon as long as they bring in a couple of other shooters. With Brett Brown gone I reckon Simmons will push to go back to point forward rather than what they experimented with this year.

Yeah, I think the Morey/China thing has passed. Now he just has to deal with another playoff exit...

I'm hoping for Lakers in 6, predicting Lakers in 7

LA just brutalised Miami. After a slow start, the Lakers did what I expected them to do. Sure they got decent production from 3, but their defence and their size and strength wore Miami down. For two quarters LA took whatever they wanted offensively inside, totally dominated Miami's half court D. Bam looked beat up, Jimmy and Dragic too. Hero, Robinson, and the others found it harder to get shots off against that long LA D. I know its only G1 but they can smell blood in the water, guys like Howard AD and LBJ want this really bad, and are playing like it. MIA have to find something fast or this will be over quick

Doc Rivers has signed a 5 year deal to be coach of the 76ers. That was quick, trading his old team for a more flawed team
