people in NZ still have these things called "jobs". They involve responsibilities on a Monday

Saw the highlights on the news.

Was it just me or did there appear to be more people on the field than in the stands?

It was only England (and, I think, Wales?). 🙂

        Thankfully.
I like them, but they were getting very repetitive and annoying late in the day.

I think it was just you? 🙂

Have been there for parts of every day, the crowds have been good for an early season test while we're all juggling work/using annual leave.

the delusion of some English cricket tragics is amazing - stating unequivocably that this English team is more talented than NZ

a fair few fluffybunnies on twitter. I would actually add Root to that list given his batting record as captain is verging on Bothamesque captaincy batting. The only reason he still ranks on the rating board is historical weight of runs but he hasn't scored a century in some time.

@booboo the pundit on sky UK was aghast at the efforts of England especially when you compared them to their kiwi counterparts (e.g. You'd take Stokes over CDG everyday, it's a no brainier).

                  I probably would.

I see Jofra is now claiming racist abuse.

I know Broad had to review being the last wicket and all, but that was SO plum. Also the delivery from Wagner that Santner took that screamer catch off was truly awful. Almost unfair that a ball that ugly gets a wicket. Buttler's leave was one of the worst I've seen.

Would have been cool for Santner to get a 5-for, but he didn't bowl quite as well today. Was pleasing to see Wagner amped and firing.

an unsurprising home win for the #2 ranked side in world cricket. Very nice to perform to expectations

Wagner gets points for enthusiasm alone, I miss that extra buzz that himself or Bmac brought to the team.

Bloody hell - where did Watling suddenly find this form? And no doubt it is not suddenly - it just took me by surprise since i haven't been paying a ton of cricket attention since the proteas seem to be so sucky.

Speaking of which... do you blokes mind if we take Wagner and Watling please? :face_with_stuck-out_tongue_winking_eye:

@Billy-Webb Watling has always been a G.O.A.T under pressure. Would love to see his average when under press vs with no pressure on. When there is no pressure he doesn’t cash in as much as other batsmen to pad their stats

@Billy-Webb Watling has always been a G.O.A.T under pressure. Would love to see his average when under press vs with no pressure on. When there is no pressure he doesn’t cash in as much as other batsmen to pad their stats

Stubborn Saffa genes: Don't know when you're supposed to be beaten.

Although before I claim too much of him - I know he left SA as a young child and pretty much learnt his cricket in NZ.

@Billy-Webb yeah I'd had the impression he was a saffa then I saw/heard his interview and figured I was wrong.

                                          And who are:
                                          Burns
                                          Sibly
                                          Denley
                                          Pope
                                          Curran
                                          Leach
                                          ??

a fair few fluffybunnies on twitter. I would actually add Root to that list given his batting record as captain is verging on Bothamesque captaincy batting. The only reason he still ranks on the rating board is historical weight of runs but he hasn't scored a century in some time.

That was pretty much my list of "Who's That?" from the Poms. The others I've ar least heard of.
