@voodoo just don't try and hook up with @mariner4life . Fluffybunny fucks off to the Gold Coast when you go visiting.

    And don't drive there ... it's a fucking loooong fucking way ...

Anyways ... said local hooked us us for a visit to Kuranda and the tourist attraction his mob runs up there, which was really cool. The Aboriginal experience was cool, as was the army duck.

Obviously the reef. Talk to said local about where would be best. We went on Silver Swift on recommendation. But there seems to be a million of them. You can go out from Cairns or Port Douglas. Did not find Nemo.

Hartley Croc farm was cool too.

Captain Cook Highway pretty spectacular, but we only drove as far as above croc farm.

Am sure we missed absolute shit loads, like the Daintree and Atherton Tablelands ... But we ran out of time.

    Just further on Kuranda....

Pretty damn spectacular railway up, kinda interesting town/market, take it or leave it butterfly house (was okish), really cool Rainforest Station, and amazing, and quite scary Sky Rail back....

We are also booked with Silverswift, but out of Port not Cairns

Looks like there is a lot to see/do!

@voodoo Cape Tribulation, croc spotting on the Daintree, lose a day up in the tablelands, just don't do what I did and see that there are tours to Undara and decide to drive there and back in the day without realising that there are set tour times for the lava tubes and arrive 15 minutes after it left - after a 4 hour drive

Cape Tribulation is beautiful, and there was a wildlife park on the way from Pt Douglas to CT (speaking from experience 15 years ago) where they have a Cassowary (allegedly, we did not see it). If you don't want to go all the way out to the reef (the trip is a couple of hours?) I have heard the Low Isles is very good, you can swim snorkel and it is a fraction of the distance if the kids are likely to get sick of an all day thing

took the kids camping to Mission Beach, which is cassowary central. One saw its reflection in the car and attacked it. Fucking stupid bird.

It's a cellar (how many times) but no, there is nobody in that one.

Seen a few too, happy to avoid them.

WTF is it with Aus, even the birds can kill you (and I'm not even talking about the Shielas).

Only the Sheilas, the Cassowary are nowhere near as scary as Aussie women.

Aussie women... shit - if any male doesn't understand what women are talking about when they talk about being objectified or seen as a "piece of meat" - visit Aus.
I walked into a bar in Melbourne once, when I still had some looks - and immediately realised how women feel... just dozens of pairs of eyes swivelling to judge me - stripping me, ranking me, and using me as their plaything in their mind.
