If Jamieson continues like this, he's shaping up to be a future international all rounder. He should be batting higher than Southee. Timmah has been riding on the memory of long ago batting form for far too long. He's a bowler who can hold a bat, not an all rounder.

I don't think there's much doubt he should bat higher than Southee. The issue I whether he should do so in his first test. That's perhaps too much pressure on a young guy.

However it appears Jamieson doesn't feel pressured at all, judging by his performances for NZ this far. I suspect he'll bat 8 in the second innings.

Draw is paying $6.50 at the TAB. That's great value I think. Plonked some down.

I'm not sure bowling the spinner against the almost 7 foot guy who can bat is the smartest play

Excellent contribution of 44 runs from Jamieson. Gutted he didn't make it to 50, but plenty more opportunities to come., if the selectors have half a brain cell.

Interesting to see who misses out next game. Kylo, Timmy or the spinner? The spinner is the easy option

@canefan I feel like dropping the dude who is in super form with both ball and bat would be a huge mistake, so more between Boult, Southee, Patel.

I don't think Patel will last long. CDG has a license to have a slash now.

Wags and Kylo need to play. That's an amazing statement

We will miss Wags in the next innings when we need someone to make something out of nothing on a flat deck

The commentators talked about the Basin test vs the Lankans in 2014/15? We were behind by over 150, went on to post 500 declared in the 3rd innings and bowl out the lankans in the 4th innings to win. Worrying

Why does Boult always bat 11? He's a better batsman than Patel.

Boult protecting Patel from the strike 👍

Trent is being a great pest. Brilliant job done by Jamieson, CdG, Boult and Patel to put on 130+ to wrest the advantage back to us
