@Hooroo Sounds vaguely familiar (both of them) - a long time since I read "The right stuff" or watched the movie though. They do sound like things that he would do.

A few Yeager quotes:

Yeah, I kinda implied the arsehole bit earlier.

I know about broken ribs, right now. Didn't he hide it so that he could do the flight and had some device in the X1 to close the canopy as he couldn't raise his arm above his head?

1982 was the first time I watched a football World Cup on TV. Rossi came from nowhere to win the golden boot and help propel Italy to win the Cup, what a golden run
