George Bower was one of the form props during the SRA so he is the favorite to play on the left side of the scrum IMO.

This year is a season that will possibly be an interesting one with us not gaining much international experience while other Championship sides have. Any signings and/or player movements that Otago have done could be talked about here
@NateHill74 i have seen you comment about Parete. He isnt in thriller Taranaki squad, he can stay in Otago?
-
might we see TUJ at 12 and Sio at 14?
-
@cgrant Hammington is gone for the season with injury. Last year's southland half back Logan Crowley has been playing club rugby in dunedin in the last few weeks. He was good value last year and trained with the Hurricanes over the Christmas break
@Kiwidom he didn't play this Saturday as Zingari didn't have his name down on one of the team sheets. He may have gone back to Southland like Flynn Thomas from Kaikorai

@macmanus Yeah, that's what I was wondering. It would be interesting as he can play loosie and lock (fill in for Josh Dickson)
-
@NateHill74 who is in the training wider group. What club rugby players have the quality fot the next level? Kirkwood, McHugh, Bell? Otago need quality forwards, specifically second and third row.
@macmanus I posted a training squad earlier in this feed, just have a check up near the top
-
A guy I work with goes out with the sister of the Umaga-Jensen boys he reckons Thomas has an Otago contract. As Wellington are playing hardball in terms of resigning him.
@mikey07 I thought it was just the Highlanders. Cause he's played for Wellington for the past few seasons

@cgrant Not going to lie, I completely forgot about Bower, he will definitely be starting at 1, Aoina 17, with Hohneck on the bench at 18 backing up Sasagi at 3

Nel to 6 and nasi at 8, koroi wasted on the wing, Collin to 13 and koroi at 15
@Kiwiwomble or the other way around, i guess we'll see, there could also be Parete if he signs with Otago

@NateHill74 sorry, thought you were talking about my last post about midfield/wing...in saying that...he hasn't got the hands for a No8

@Kiwiwomble i agree though, he would fit 6 better, which we need a position for

@NateHill74 or keep him in the engine room where hes been doing a good job for the landers....and tell him to top roaming wide
-
1.96 m for Parete seems very generous. When he played for the Chiefs he didn't look that tall relative to the other loose forwards, and was dwarfed by other locks.

@Bovidae His profile on the Highlanders website says 1.86m. That seems about right.
His player profile on the Taranaki website says 1.93 m.
Using the eyeball test he looked short for a lock.
