Gear got overlooked by everybody didn't he? The Curse of too many teams?
Counties for me in this one, due to their midfield and wings and the fact they're playing BoP.

I actually think the Bay win this one on the forward match-ups, playing a 10 man game.
If we were to run this one around..then for me it goes the other way.

Bias aside I doubt that scenario.
CMs front row is one of the ABs best.
The locks are evens.
Cane > Marsh but Marsh won’t make it easy.
I know Bourke is a fan favorite with you guys but Brain is easily his equal.And we have Beaver.

The reality is, this is all hypothetical, I dont agree that Steve McDowell gets bettered and I still think we have a slight edge in the forwards, but thats just an opinion.

The reality is, this is all hypothetical, I dont agree that Steve McDowell gets bettered and I still think we have a slight edge in the forwards, but thats just an opinion.
I am also one of the few people that would list Beaver as a negative@bayimports Tukino will turn up how he did for the 2001 Chiefs, and Cooksley was erratic. He’d need John Mitchell to be the coach.
I did think about Rico Gear, but my vague memory is of hearing that he was very professional while not entirely enthusiastic about being loaned out to the Bay at the time.

hurst to say it, but the vote is pretty much right. I think we have the edge in a few spots in the pack, but not enough to negate that fucking backline. If Counties get even 45% of the ball we are in serious trouble.

He might not actually have played but I did once see him sitting the stand - and he wasn't even an All Black when we signed him so we pretty much made him the player he became!
