@nogusta I was in the corporate box at the Tin on Friday night and spoke to someone high up at MSP. Let's just say he's very confident that Thompson will be a Cane next year. I asked him about Ah Koui and why he wasn't ever considered for the Canes, apparently he was never offered a contract.

@canes4life be silly not to lock him in - his talent was pretty obvious during the M10 last year.
-

@stargazer not with two AB hookers and Thompson coming through. I do hope the Canes get rid of O’Reilly, he really isn’t up to Super Rugby level.

@canes4life If the Canes signed Kereru-Symes, they wouldn't sign Thompson. But with Thompson signed by Wellington, they won't sign Kereru-Symes anyway, so it's a moot point.

@stargazer going from pure ability and potential the Canes will sign Thompson any day of the week.

Interesting no one has poster this:
 Found this part quite interesting:
“Holland would also like to recruit another first-five, although he was pleased with the development of teenager Ruben Love, who capped off a promising debut season with a second half try against the Reds.“We always need to make sure at 10 we’re solid so there’s probably one more spot there that we need to fill,” he said.” Am I to believe that JGB won’t be a Cane next year?

@foobanz wouldn't be a bad move, infact I wouldn't mind him starting, shifting Barrett to 12 and moving Love to 15, with Morgan on the bench. The Canes essentially have Jackson Garden-Bachop, Brett Cameron, SImon Hickey or Otere Black to choose from.

@foobanz said in Hurricanes 2021: I think Black will come back to the Canes. There was a NZH article that interviewed him about his upcoming decision. He talked a lot about looking after his families future. The reporter hinted he was going overseas and the upcoming Maori game would be his last

@canes4life And Caleb Makene? Unless you're only talking about experienced SR players. He's spent all season with the Highlanders and I think his switch to 10 has been a success. Unlucky with his injury, preventing him from getting more than one cap.

@stargazer i'd prefer Lincoln McClutchie before Makene.
