There was a dig at TTT in the Stuff article on the AB naming suggesting that after his one season selection he partied way too hard over the summer and burned some bridges. Could be gossip, could be the reason why even at the Chiefs he fell out of favour.

Most of his value comes at Super level, and he’s lucky to be in the ABs 23. Why give him a sabbatical?

@donsteppa speaking of, Luke Campbell might be the unlucky one at the Canes if they go with Perenara, Roigard and Booth/Enari for next year. Is there room at the Chiefs for Campbell? I thought he was really solid for us the year.

The first part of your post is straight up bullshit, he was freaking valuable in his last full non injury test series, as @Canes4life notes we missed his impact in 2019.
Secondly, I don't think he's been given a "sabbatical", but if TJP can come back after a trip to Japan then I think DMac has got a reasonable chance of doing it too.

Reading that article it also says that Reihana was only contracted for 2021 so no guarantee he is re-signed, now that he has moved outside of the franchise area.

@stargazer Trask can be used as a 1st 5. Everything will depend on DMac's decision.
Hawke's Bay isn't in the Chiefs region either.

Tiaan falcon is back and still very young could be an option too if he's gotten over his injuries
