🙂 was going to use "lock/6" but realised you guys number your flankers wrong.

Open side and 2 is an interesting combo at this level.

Even Mealamu was a converted flanker, but not sure when he made the switch.

@booboo He started his career at WP as a nr 2 and switched to 6 later.

He is in very good form with Roos for the Stormers.

Pretty sure he played under Nienaber and Rassie at the Stormers

@akan004 Doc Craven use to say when WP and N Tvl are strong, then Bok rugby is also strong. They play in the URC Final on Saturday.

Would be great to have their prop depth for sure.

@Machpants this is the squad till end of year. Our season ends next week, so they need a big squad. There can be SA A matches aswell.

Good to see some new faces.

Ah that makes sense. Yeah boks have a lot of older players, most still good, but some are past their use by (e.g. Le Roux) and fresh blood is good

Good to see NZ sending their u19s to South Africa for 4 matches and the A teams playing in Dec in France.

@Machpants look like we'll see some SA A matches this year.

Good depth, around the world. And some of the schoolboy stuff I've seen on youtube - ouch!

@Machpants yesterday's Paarl Interschools was great after 3 years. Remember Louis Koen? His son played 10 for Paarl Gim.

@OomPB Looks like the blue, black and white team had a few too many over the regulation fifteen allowed on the field before the referee blew his whistle for full time. Surely the red, yellow and black team would win any protest over that.

@Higgins ja it is quite controversial. The Boys High (blue) nr 8 knocked the ball on when he scored that try , the ref should have allowed a penalty try earlier for Gim (green/maroon/yellow) Team plus a card for a deliberate knock on by Boys High There was 26,000 attending and the old boys ran on before the end whistle which was sad. Western Province and Saru will hopefully learn from this and appoint a top ref and TMO for such a big match. Faure Stadium will sadly get wired to prevent running on the pitch.

However today everything has forgotten and Monday Paarl will be normal again.

Players from the two school in the current Bok squad are Handre Pollard and Williams Gim and Salman Moerat and Evan Roos Boys High
