Has anyone calculated the total minutes these guys have played? I would guess that the players ranked 1-3 have actually spent less time on the field than the players in 4th and 5th positions.
@bovidae I'm sure you're right. Unfortunately I don't have access to those stats.

A quizz for those of us of a certain age .....
Cast your mind back to 1991. The All Blacks were touring Argentina, and simultaneously Romania and USSR were touring NZ.
Romania and USSR played a test each against a New Zealand XV, effectively NZ C as the top 30 players were on the All Black tour.
5 of these players actually went on to play at the world cup later that year, can you name them?
(One of them for another country)

A check shows Hewett and Preston were the other ABs.

No. 5 went on to play at that year's world cup, is what I meant; 4 for NZ 1 for Samoa.
Here's another question.
2 players from the NZ XV in those 2 games, not named in the answers above, also went on to play in the 1999 world cup for a different country.

Actually I missed one other in my original quiz, Graham Dowd also went to the world cup and played in one of these games and didn't tour Argentina.

So, another quiz.
There were 29 players on the tour of Argentina,
B McCahill played both for NZ XV and went on the Argetina tour, and made the world cup squad.
Tuigamala played neither NZ XV nor toured Argentina but was in world cup squad.
Another 4 players named above went to the world cup; Dowd, Hewett, Preston, Carter.That is 34 players, the world cup squads were 26 palyers.
Name the 8 players on the Argentina tour of 1991 who didn't make the world cup squad.
