@ACT-Crusader no shit, it's why Beauden's still starting.
@Canes4life so why talk about “deserving”?
There was no way the AB selectors were going to leave out their most experienced back (other than Smith) even if his form at Super rugby was up and down.
The only question was do they see more upside with
B. Barrett and DMac 10-15 combo or Mo’unga and B. Barrett 10-15 combo.
So far it’s been the latter. Could change against Argies.

@ACT-Crusader I know Foster obviously wanted to start his tenure off with a win by selecting that experience but for me I would have liked to see Jordan and Jordie get that first opportunity after playing the house down all year. No better opportunity than throwing those guys into a test on home turf against a fairly inexperienced Australian side.
That's just me though, others like Foster want to be conserative by selecting a more experienced side and that's fine. It's all a matter of opinion. Heck you could even argue the RM/BB combo failed at the WC so why even persist with it. I guess that's what makes the debate around some of these selections so absorbing

The Sydney job is perfect for Sam Whitelock, who was ruled out of the Auckland match because of concussion.
The word is that the vastly experienced Whitelock is fit for this one. Excellent. It gives Rennie and co something more to worry about.
It's only Knowler, but hopefully this is true.
"The latter (Jordie) may lack top-end speed when compared to other test wings, but his height will prove advantageous if the Aussies go for a high kicking game through halfback Nic White"
I am sick of hearing about how great Jordie's height will be against a kicking game. White had a great kicking game in Welly. How many did Jordie catch?
I banged that drum as an advantage he possessed, then we kicked high to his wing about as often as he made 55m penalties

Fozzie's keeping his powder dry.

@chimoaus pretty sure Clarke is as tall as Bridge, if not taller!
Caleb might be borrowing Ardie's box to stand on for those official stats. Apparently he's a centimetre taller than Will Jordan!

-
@Chris-B more red lines and green circles please.
Really, I just find it odd lumping him in the same box as Reece....
@Bones Can't do lines and circles - but, there's a series of those new AB photos with Caleb and Will standing next to one another.

@chimoaus Jordan's a lock by Hurricanes standards.

1.84 m looks to be more accurate.

I remember when that photo first dropped and my immediate reaction was, “Sotutu’s not that big”

@ACT-Crusader definitely someone who "plays above his weight". He's never looked imposing but his ability to power through tackles or into tackles is impressive.
-
If Clarke is 1.84, Jordan is 1.88 and Sotutu 1.92 that photo looks about right.
-
Ok now I am confused in one photo Sotutu looks shorter than Jordan, in the last one he looks taller. Short photographer for the former one?
-
Height in the backline: more important at fullback than wing? Did not seem to be important in Bled I.

Yep - though Clarke is listed widely on the interweb at 1.89.
Height can be useful.
Ask Mitch Hunt about the end of the North South match.
