@Cyclops I saw him get interviewed after 2nd or 3rd round of this tournament.
He said he has lost fear, or was more relaxed, so was prepared to take the slightly riskier shots after the first win.
Also remember seeing him say after the first one he was relaxed as a sportsman of his age to know he could play in USA for a couple of years pretty well set him up.

Think this view is better, shows the distance of it. Unreal moment for him.

No worries Dan ... Just feeling ignored 🙂

Heard him say winning his first the other week has made him relax. Paraphrasing, but he's not afraid of hitting a bad shot any more, because the pressure has gone.

Huge Fleetwood choke, sadly. 2 up with 3 to play and nerves destroyed his game. Awful watching.

Keegan Bradley takes it with a birdie / bogey swing on the last.

Maaaassive choke. Really wanted him to win too.

Alker also done in the final stretch by Miguel Jimenez on the champions tour who birdied his last two holes and forced a playoff. Alker then continued to struggle on 18 as he has all week. Bugger

Yeah devastating for Tommy. Such a deflating finish.

Keegan throws a massive spanner into the Ryder Cup though. Clearly one of the form 12 American players, so does he pick himself? Does he stand down as Captain? Surely the latter as the idea of a playing captain is both very entertaining and very outdated...

He will likely qualify as one of the automatic picks now anyway as I think since he won this recent event it puts him up there amongst the top six now.

                      It's Open week!!!

Royal Portrush has the honours of hosting and on the Dunluce course which is pretty dam tough. Having said that, Shane Lowry was a runaway winner there last time (2019) at -15, 6 ahead of the next best.

Already fizzing, yet 4 or so days to go!

Going to be a great week. Plenty of interesting narratives - can Scheffler get it done outside of the US? Is Rory back? Is Rahm back, or did he ever even leave? Is Xander alive?

Much like at Oakmont, feels relatively open, could be a left field winner. Especially if conditions are tough (forecast is for a bit of rain but not high winds).

Would be nice to see a player like Tommy Fleetwood or Victor Hovland win.
Would be great if there was a left field winner though. Like two years ago in Brian Harman

Fox off 8.25pm nz time so great viewing. Grouped with Matty Fitzpatrick and Hideki Matsuyama so a pretty good group.

Fox finished on 4 over. 8 off the lead. He will be a battle tomorrow to make the cut.

Scottie Scheffler's one shot of the lead and must be the big favourite to add to his haul of Major wins on Sunday.

Don't forget the other kiwi in the field - Dan Hillier. Shot a pretty tidy even par and sits T32. He's off early on day 2 so will be good to follow his progress tonight.
