Well it looks like the Mavs got their compensation from the NBA for giving Luka up by getting the number 1 pick.
Nothing dodgy about it lol.......
Don't worry, that fluffybunny in charge will likely fuck it up anyway
-
he's currently trading the first pick to Boston for what's left of Tatum's achilles and a bowl of clam chowder

IMHO Dallas ownership don't deserve that kind of luck. It's not like they got scammed, they ran they superstar out of town and badmouthed him as he left. They should be cursed
It was rigged lol let's not play dumb here.
Maybe in the old days. Not so sure now. There's too much at stake, don't they get one of the major auditing firms to oversee the lottery? A quick Google check says Ernst and Young oversee it
If they want to be transparent they would show the actual draft lottery - not just release the results
2008: Derrick Rose going to his home town Chicago when the Bulls had a 1.7% chance
2011: The Cavaliers getting the #1 pick after LeBron James left the summer prior
2012: The Pelicans getting the #1 pick after Chris Paul leaves
2019: The Pelicans getting the #1 pick after Anthony Davis demands a trade
2025: The Dallas Mavericks getting the #1 pick after trading Luka Doncic at the trade deadline with a 1.8% chance
It's rigged as all hell

I would be all for televising the lottery. Just like a lotto show, it would make great telly as the respective teams find out their fate in real time

He did take an age to start using his bench, they are similar to the Nuggets I think in getting all their points from their starters.
But, yeah, seems rough to not go again next year with some upgrades.
There is some negative talk about KAT around as well.
That game 6 was there for them and they just couldn’t walk through the door, maybe that’s the root of it.

There’s no edge / killer instinct in this version of the Knicks, just a bunch of really nice pieces.
I look at the Pacers and two guys - Mathurin and Helly have that bit of crazy in them when they play. When there’s very little between the teams when it comes to talent, you need something a little extra and I think the Pacers have it.
OKC have this ruthlessness that many don’t see because they see the post game team interviews, the “togetherness” but they are so locked in that teams up by 10 all of sudden find themselves down by 6 in a matter of minutes. SGAs mid range game is such a weapon that every defence in the league has suffered at the hands of it.

KAT has skills, but the guy plays small. He has little rim protection presence

On OKC, it's their defence that I love, they are just so good at moving around the floor.
I've spent a long time in OK, so I'm 100% behind them for this series.Edit: BTW, I thought KAT had found that in that game where he went so well, but he just can't find that edge.

KAT is such an odd player. He's sooooo slow, and can be soooo dumb, but man his jumper is sweet.
But the Knicks offense is a total zero - it's almost all iso stuff, Brunson, KAT and Bridges taking turns. I won't miss them, and I definitely won't miss Brunsons style of game.
Here is a stat for you - Halliburtons assist-to-turnover ratio in that series was 6.1x; - Brunsons was 1.4x - that's nuts for a diferential between opposing PG's. I know they are different players, but still. Credit to Nembhard's D for a lot of that, but still a wild discrepancy. Incredible number for Hali
It'll be a very interesting and fun finals. Both teams play great d and love to push the pace - can't see Indy getting multiple fast break layups off scored baskets like they did v the Knicks.
Hard to see Indy having enough scoring to win more than 1 game - but they've been proving people wrong all playoffs so far!
OKC in 5 for me
-
-
Hoping for Indy, but OKC in 6
-
@voodoo KAT is the prototypical big man in today’s league. Has endless range so is a nightmare on pick and pops. Has an iso game. But his back to the basket game is limited. Doesn’t work enough form 15 feet in.
Not a fan but there is definite quality. Brunson might need to evolve his game a bit. He’s got the scorers mentality, the back down game like no other guard in the league not named Luka, but the ball is sticky with him on the floor and other guys aren’t being involved the way you would like or need to go that next step.

It's good that there will be another first-time winner.
And also a different NBA champion for the 7th straight year.

He might’ve been rated the most overrated but this kid has hit more game ending shots this season than any other player.
Crazy with all those turnovers and the fact that Hali’s shot gave them their first lead of the game, makes it all the more unreal.

Windy said he is 12/14 in the final 2 minutes to take the lead.
That's Cluuuuuuuuutch. Also, until today it was 0/163 in games down by 9 with a minute left.
If the Thunder wee more careful from turnover ball they should have won that by heaps though....
