at least most of you Qld supporters have stayed on to take your medicine..unlike those tah supporters who are already refusing to turn up to see their team get reamed by the chiefs this weekend.

    Entertaining thread at least 🙂

I thought the workrate of the NSW outside backs went a long way to victory. Coates, Feldt, Gagai and Capewell weren't on the same level as To'o, Mitchell, Addo-Carr, Tommy Turbo and Tedesco as they were taking the pressure off their forwards massively by carrying the ball up through To'o and Addo-Carr about 2-3 times a set, with Tommy Turbo and Tedesco sniffing around the ruck picking out mismatches through the middle against tired QLD forwards who were being forced to work overtime where their forwards were probably hitting the ball up about 4 times (due to QLDs outside backs not working hard enough to help them out and take some pressure off them) a set against a foward pack that was fresh due to the work of their backs (probably hitting the ball up 1-2 times a set).

Having Capewell against Tommy Turbo was a disaster also as he didn't have the speed (being a 2nd rower) to match and looked lost out there with Feldt who surely will not see another Origin jersey again, and Gagai and Coates were all at sea against Mitchell and To'o, where Luai and Cleary were hitting Mitchell's chest every time, beating Gagai on the outside on numerous occasions. Gagai and Coates will no doubt retain their places, but have a lot of work to do.

Kaufusi, Fifitam Cherry-Evans and Munster were all very disappointing as well. They needed them to lift their side being their star players and all went missing when the going got tough. Fotuaika and Arrow were the only ones who looked like they were putting in any effort.

In the cold light of the next day

Fuck that was good from NSW. You will not see rugby league back play better than that. Every single NSW back had a fucking field. There was space everywhere, and they exploited it ruthlessly. And their "structure" was to have no structure, just turn up and attack.

They were allowed that space by the NSW forwards dominating without doing anything except getting metres and playing the ball fast. Yeo was huge, so was Saifiti. Everything fed off that.

Throw in a relentless NSW defensive performance that was too fast for Qld to handle, and the margin is pretty much bang on

Qld were dogshit, and aided some of the above. No line speed on defense, no solid shots to stop momentum, not enough numbers in tackles. And it seemed they were so scared of 6-again they just allowed the ruck to be lightening. I mentioed it during the game, but the NSW ruck speed was touch-like. With the ball they had nothing. The outside backs couldn't even make the defensive line early in the set, while the forwards did fuck all. Too many flash edge players and far too little through the middle.

Quitting with a quarter of an hour to go was gutless and will make things very hard to turn around. Not sure what Green does, the new interpretations have made it impossible for out-matched sides to kill the game and keep it close.

Well done NSW, that was really fucking awesome to witness.

@mariner4life to be fair, also you did lose a starting prop very early due to a head clash with as Raz put it, the worlds fastest brick. Interestingly the brick showed no signs of decay! That certainly impacts the rotation and go fforward through the middle.

NSW out enthused QLD in defense as you say which is normally a hall mark of every QLD side

those outside backs were incredible to watch when the play started to break up..some scary talent there and fun to watch from othe blue side of the fence

a game played under those circuntances i can't think of a team in history that could compete with that backline last night. Creative fast strong players everywhere.

Burton almost single-handedly won the game for the Panthers last night. The Bulldogs got him for cheap.

I agree there were rumours earlier this week, he was leaving, to be honest Ken and the Fus have been playing like neither really wants to be there for the last 18 months.

The resigning of Bunty was the better news for me this week, still not sure on the signing of Aaron Pene (storm), but we shall see.

He was big but defensively not great IMHO. And he wasn't the quality finisher that Fus was
