@Victor-Meldrew USofA license is in the mail with my bike endorsement.
Current life crisis is...- do I go and buy a bike immediately, and maybe get a couple of weeks of summer riding in before putting it away for PNW winter, and pay insurance, etc...
- or procrastinate even further, which got me here, and wait until next summer
- dive into something like riders-share.com for the next month
- go to UK and borrow the bike I left there for a month or so
Fucking 1st world problems, but...
Any of those options except procrastinate. Riding is good for the soul if it's in your blood. I am on a three week trip at the moment and it's been cathartic.

@Crazy-Horse I just found a crowd-sourced rental Ducati Monster less than 1-hour away via public transport. Is now definitely my top option for filling the itch this summer.
And will be back in NZ for Dec/Jan on the Speed Triple.
Next NH summer... I'll look at leasing something for US road-trips. -

And NZ is motorcycle paradise. I didn't appreciate how good it is until I left.

Had a really stressful 3-4 weeks so 1st time out in that time. Clears the head and makes the world seem a lot more manageable.

It is SO fucking good.
I reckon I've now ridden in over a couple dozen countries... 8/10 of my favourite roads are in NZ. -

I'm def. not an unsociable animal, but I'm also at my happiest when riding alone for some reason.

Same, and I am not sure I can explain why

Next time you want a raw fish fix, I'd either try Ebisu, which is more conventional Japanese fusion food, or Azabu which is a Japanese Peruvian fusion restaurant. Azabu is one of my favourites. The cooked stuff is okay too...

I just checked out their menu, I don't think my brain is ready to pay those kind of prices for Viet food yet.

It's OK. But I prefer my vietnamese food in dingy spots like this
Beef pho is one of my top meals

Yeah, that's the fancy one in Ginza where they jack the price up by ¥30, the fluffybunnies
It's my son's favourite thing to eat and actually does deserve a place in this thread - he's a fucking kid and doesn't like veges etc, but he's become a hound for kaiten sushi. He gets in there and uses the touch pad like a pro, ordering his Maguro (tuna) and Ikura (fish eggs) and hammering them home.
Hints and tips, that flagship store is worth a visit, but book ahead. We went a week or so ago (booked it two days ahead) and walked in at 7pm and basically got the next available table. People who were there (almost 100% tourists) were signing up to eat and the wait time was 120 minutes.....

Just finished setting up my new laptop.

8/10 was more of a "vibe thing".
But Mount Everest would be top-10. And perhaps the “Zig-Zag Mountain Road with 72 Turns” also in Tibet.
I vaguely recall a road in Morocco which would maybe be #11. Brecon Beacons up there too.
I really need to get to Stelvio Pass one day. -
Great day today. Took my Dad as a belated Father’s Day present to listen to a couple of goats.
Had a great discussion with Carter and McCaw here in Sydney. My dad even won a signed jersey which some rich punter paid $7500 for lol.
Having this moment with my aging Dad priceless, winning a signed jersey and talking about our own family all black history with two goats just sublime.
Had a lot of down days recently but this was absolutely memorable

Interesting thoughts on NZ rugby from both which will happily discuss in a rugby thread if anyone wants to hear as you can imagine both playing a largely flat bat to most subjects.
Also this is just my own opinion and not fact but would not be surprised if Ritchie ends up with CTE later in life, he has always been largely an introvert but just some struggles in expressing clearly his opinion worry’s me for one of our greatest. I maybe way off the ball but just a thought I got from watching him and talking to him today. Seriously hope I’m wrong
