Tell you what, if you're a keeper in England, you better make sure you can score runs. This lad has only kept in 16 first class matches so still a novice. He's making a decent fist of it but I guess he can bat. No problem that they didn’t select outside their large squad, and Foakes has already been touted as the best gloves and in test cricket - dunno about that but he does look good and promising.

Commentators are right about how difficult lords is to keep and in all honesty this lad is doing as well or better than BJ at lords. Watling was pretty terrible in 2015, 16 byes and many fumbles.

My point? It's hard to keep tidy at lords, this kid doesn't yet have the chops but all eyes on BJ later - he'll definitely want to make an improvement on last time there.
