On Day One!
I think we're ahead at the moment. First hour really important - mop up England for not much, and then settle in to bat once and bat big. well, that's always the plan, but we should have the best of the pitch conditions to bat on.
Going to be a tasty test match, and thank you again England for arranging it

That was more for nzzp. I think when Mitch logs onto the Fern he has a clear picture of our point of view re-his place in the test team

From a historical POV you can make a case that they are, given they have runs on the board and we have to bat last. But, times have changed and pitches are not breaking up like they used to in general; batting on a day 5 pitch is not the nightmare it once was.
If we can get them for 300 odd and put close to 500 on the board then they'll be under a lot of pressure to set us something they can defend. It's pretty even at the moment.

@crazy-horse yeah, just when we think life and the world can't get any weirder we have a weapon of a BC team kicking ass and taking names. Even when missing some of our big guns.

@virgil I think Patel definitely didn't get the memo!
Somehow I'd missed how interesting Patel's bowling action is, I had not caught how he stops dead after letting the ball go, like zero follow through.

But I hear ya.Patel has a great arm ball but alas I think will be Canon fodder for the injuns. Not wholly convinced, not enough fizz. Still, he did a good job letting Tom rotate the others, of whom Henry may have been the most threatening, even with his average
A good day, great if you hated our attack like most of you doubting Thomas's ( not you dogmeat). Ever so slightly in front but rugby ain't won in the first 16 minutes
.That's a good deck, will be best over the next day or two i suspect. Fielding looked good, Blundell was absolutely fine and Boulty sort of fixed his low left arm at the end.

P.s. spare a thought for Bracey - inclusivity gone mad - while Buttler still needs a rest from 15 hours of pyjama cricket played 3 months ago. Fuck the England fish heads!
