I’ll dedicate my prediction to rapido. Can’t beat 10 man soccer (with a goalie for good measure), big forwards and a 10 who prefers kicking than running with the ball.

Edit I was also up late in the night with German friends as a teen, so yeah I know about the hoodoo

Italia 1990. Was on a train from Bonn to Zurich listening to England /Germany on BBC World Service. German colleagues were incredibly gracious to my English workmates and got them well-pissed the following night.

You would think being paid millions to kick a ball that you could confidently hit the top corner 99% of the time, yet they usually go for the easier option.Feel bad for the players who missed however regardless.
