Two huge crashes on Stage One which will leave some riders sore.

Julian Alaphilippe won the first stage and will wear yellow tomorrow.

What feed did sky buy? Has the whole commentating crew jumped to Eurosport over the years ( Kirby, Kelly, Hatch etc).

I suspect that this is the ITV presentation which was going to be my alternate option.

@sparky The guy holding the cardboard sign will have come in for some criticism.

I thought it would be an exaggeration when I read he'd pretty much taken down the whole peloton - but, no.

          He should take up skittles.

That second crash has taken quite a few big names pretty much out of overall contention.

Miguel Angel Lopez, Buchmann, Kruiswijk, Pierre Roland, Guillaume Martin all 2 minutes behind.

And progressively worse off - Meintjes, Porte, Poels, Formolo, Yates, Valverde, Dan Martin, Geoghan-Hart, Woods, Froome, Hirschi and Soler.

Froome apparently looking pretty badly damaged.

Will there be charges? Looked like the rider hit her arm as the sign was pretty flimsy. What an utter fluffybunny.

We'd need a lot of new jails if everyone who did something completely fuckwitted was charged!

I guess she could be done with some sort of traffic offence.

Soler has fractures to both arms and has abandoned.

Wait for reports on others...sounds like Froome will be lucky to recover and given Hirschi finished behind him - he'll also be in doubt.

@chris-b stupidity is one hell of a defense aye 🙂

I figured some kind of traffic/event laws would apply given the event - so a fine or something, certainly not jumping to a jail term lol

It's not the first time that a fan has got too close in the Tour. But this time there were serious consequences

I’m surprised fans haven’t caused that much chaos more often. Some of them show no common sense and even less common courtesy once the riders appear.

The same fucktards that ruined Group B.

She has a punchable face of Ed Sheehan/James Corden proportions.

I know the legs are 200km, with 2 sides of the road making that 400km

But you wonder if it isn't time to invest in some rope.

                                      Because this stuff is devastating.

But you wonder if it isn't time to invest in some rope.

                                          Because this stuff is devastating.

Nah. For everyone else except the stupid people like her having no boundaries is what makes it worth standing in the middle of nowhere for hours. You just have to stay aware at all times. Bikes, cars, motorcycles all flying past inches away at speed.

Look, I'm not really serious and I know it would never happen. But man would you be furious if something you trained so hard for was taken away from you like that. I can't think of another sport where it's so possible.
