      Current ranking points:

      1. Nadal 10,600

      2. Federer 9,605

      3. Dimitrov 4,990

Those two are just miles ahead.

Rafa is going to shed quite a bucketload, for having to pull out in the quarters compared with being a losing finalist last year. If Roger wins, he'll still be a few hundred points behind, but if Rafa is out injured for any significant period of time, Rog will be back at number one.

Notably, Roger has all those points (relative to the young guns) despite skipping the clay court season last year!

Watched the final set of the Halep v Kerber SF. Great power hitting from the women. Cilic is battling Ryan Reynolds clone Brit Edmund who looks a good young talent. Meanwhile Rocky's squash buddy Cheong makes it to the SF vs Federer. If he can keep his composure and keep Roger hitting lots of backhands who knows? This is a golden opportunity for Federer to snatch another GS title

All this talk about Federer's longevity how good is Billy Jean to compete against the blokes at her age? Bobby Riggs ... pffft ...

Wozniacki takes the lively first set in a tie break. Looks like she's making a point of attacking more than I've seen her before

Wow. Halep looked done. Injury timeout, limping, I'm not sure if it was Halep's stand and deliver tactics or Wozniacki's lack of aggression but she wins the second set.

Middle of the third set and neither woman can hold serve. Woz looks like she's tightened up, her shots lack depth, Halep is hitting with more power but physically hanging on. Not a classic due to the troubles holding serve but it's absorbing

Woz takes a medical timeout for her knee and comes out with a more positive outlook. She breaks Halep and holds for the first time since the first game of the third set to lead 5-4 with Halep serving, having only held once this set

And it's over. All of the emotions built up from years of GS failure coming pouring out for Wozniacki. Halep was courageous and played like a champion. Woz also takes the no1 ranking off Halep too. Excellent match

                              Just read this about Roger
"Jerry Bembry writing for ESPN pointed out that of the 1338 matches Federer has played since turning pro in 1998, he has never retired - he has finished every one."

Says a lot about the guy. No surrender, ever. Almost 20 years.

He also has Aura apparently - when she isn't at my place or with the ABs.

I only watched the last 3 sets but it was a strange match. Cilic was so dominant in the 4th set but then failed to use that momentum in the 5th set. It helped that Roger started getting his first serves in again.

20 Grand Slams is an amazing achievement and you wouldn't bet against no.21 in July.

I saw that Thor was in the house too.
