@Canes4life Two Wairarapa College old boys. Josh Syms is a forme Wai-Bush Head Coach, so will probably know them via his Wairarapa connections.

@Canes4life I have watched Isaac for the last few years as he plied his trade with my Axemen. Even went on that Hurricanes Development Trip to Japan but did not seem to get the breaks with Wellington come the rep season. Maybe they think he is a little on the slight side body wise compared to some of the bigger halfbacks. Here is an interesting feature on this well spoken young man

I see Darren Larsen is the head coach so expect it will see all 13 of the Wellington players in the squad shoe horned into the starting line up with the remainder (12 Manawatu, 7 HB and 1 Wanganui) fighting over the crumbs. Oh Mr. Larsen will probably shove in a few other Wellington Academy players as well.

@Higgins what a lad! good to see him rep ories. i watched Isaac play for ories prems for a couple games at start of the season guttered he left! was an awesome assett played both 9, 10 brought such good energy with him. great skills/fitness is nek level. sad to see these youngins have to ply their trade elsewhere due to not even being considered even when being in wellington academy. That would mean club rugby players have no chance. So good on him and wish him all the best.. Otide!

@Tim Not at all surprising really now that he has finally grasped the reality that he will never unseat the regular starting number four at the Hurricanes.

@Winger Still younger than Sam Whitelock and Luke Romano just as two examples. And there is that other guy that plays for Ta$man that must be over 40 by now that also features in Super Rugby from time to time, Alex Ainsley might be his name?

Former All Blacks star Julian Savea says he wants to return to the New Zealand national side - but as a second-five rather than a wing.

Devan Flanders playing clug rugby tomorrow for Havelock North. Now the Hurricanes only have to beat the Brumbies, for him to be able to run out in black & yellow again, this season.

Does anyone want to write a review of the Canes season, like Southernmann did for the Highlanders? Or a more positive thing looking towards 2023?

    Simple:

Shit results, garbage coaching & decent talent emerging
