I would love to see some proper old fashioned heritage jerseys made all of cotton with long sleeves, lace up necks, and all about three sizes too big for the player wearing it.

@higgins exactly how much better would cullen goldie and lomu have been in their prime if they didn't wear huge oversized heavy jerseys

conversely how much better was it being a fan when you didn't have to buy a jersey 2 sizes up because you're not built like a professional rugby player

NZ Rugby really are all sorts of fucking useless.

"hey, our game and our competitions diminish in popularity every year. Lets do fuck all to promote it. I mean, it's rugby in NZ, we don't really have to do anything do we?"

If you hadn't posted that graphic I doubt many of us in NZ would have known it was meant to be a heritage round. I certainly didn't expect Adidas to release new jerseys.

its like we buy the old press about NZ being Rugby mad...rugby in NZ is nothing compared to AFL in aus or football in...most other countries...let alone any of the American sport

@kiwiwomble I still have got my 1995 World Cup (even though it did not officially take place!)number 11 jersey with the obligatory CCC logo, big white collar and think it might even have the Steinlager emblem on it as well. It only comes out for special occasions mind you, mainly because it is now of the modern day fit rather than the rather largish fit it was when I first acquired it.

Not actively, but I did see the Chiefs have two heritage-related SM posts. They advertised the Super Round in Melbourne but nothing about the heritage round.

Yet, it’s the best heritage jersey I’ve seen for a long time.

I think it’s good that they acknowledge rugby existed before Super.

Edit: Agree with @Bovidae though that the yellow 1992 jersey would have been good to see.

The Force wasn't created out of a club, or subsequently an amalgamation. Its only history of note in the competition is to be kicked out for a while.

As I suggested previously, they are also using the Chiefs and Hurricanes' bye week to play their postponed game. With no byes, coaches will have to manage their player workloads differently.
