Update to this: when I left a job a couple of years ago, one of my mates there gave some parting remarks at my farewell drinks, basically grabbing parts of Norm's bits from that Holocaust denier video to question my stance on the Holocaust. Let's just say those who hadn't seen the clip were left somewhat bemused...

I think I've seen him in minor roles in a movie or two. I'm clearly not in this loop

This is what got him fired.

NBC Pres Don Ohlmeyer was close personal friend of NBC employee O. J. Simpson, and he and SNL chief Lorne Michaels kept commanding Norm to eliminate the Juice comments, which only made Norm go out on live American tv every Saturday night and shit all over Orenthal even harder. To see that guy live on national television was to hold your breath. You never knew what was going to come out of his mouth, and he didn’t give a fuck. That’s why he was loved. So many of very best comedians considered him a master and were in awe of him.
