@taniwharugby How many local chaps from the remaining SR Franchises would jump ship and join the Cheetahs and Kings if this meant that they were seen as "Local" and therefore are still eligible for Bok Duty (and earn Euros)?

May actually drain from the "Bigger" SR franchises and blow up in SARU's face?

@PN possibly, I guess it would require good management and direction from SARU to do it properly and successfully so yep, dumb idea 😉

      Reds v Brumbies.

Best part was the fog hiding half the field. Brumbies now get to host a final after losing more matches than they won.

Bloemfontein is going to be a scheduling nightmare it's a city with no internation flights. Johannesburg is a 4 hour drive and a ~3 hour connection.

Port Elizabeth is an even longer connection.

Getting the Euros is smart, but it's a half assed attempt.

Kind of a pity the Kings are being dropped, they've shown a lot of improvement this year.

@SammyC yep they are playing a great attacking style of rugby, scoring some great tries.

Although having SBW available for Bledisloe would be a good thing, this would make a complete joke of the judicial system (again), if this is true (we can't check whether it's true, because the judicial decision about SBW has not been published, as far as I can tell):

Sonny Bill Williams' four-match suspension for his hit on Anthony Watson in Wellington will see him miss the Blues' final match in Tokyo, but with two pre-season games for Counties Manukau factored in he will be free to return for the first Bledisloe Cup showdown in Sydney on August 19.

                                .

Ash Dixon has re-signed with the Highlanders for two more years!
Hopefully, that also means two more years for Hawke's Bay.

@Stargazer Wonder if that means Bryn Hall will be going as you would think that he would be included with that lot if he had re-signed and Fukofuka has another year to run on his contract. I'm assuming that with all the hype surrounding Ene Enari that they will be looking to promote him to the main squad next season.

@African-Monkey Only if the Crusaders no longer want him, which is unlikely, considering he's getting regular starts. Hall himself has said about a month ago that he'd like to stay. Unless that has suddenly changed, of course ...

I can imagine that Fukofuka will just be there for injury cover again next year and then be dropped at the end of the season. He may battle with Enari for third spot. For Enari it would be a development year; not sure he's ready to be the 2nd halfback in 2018.
