@tim Some - particularly ex-league - players will never learn how to tackle properly. I'd like this guy to disappear from rugby. He possibly ended Dagg's AB chances with that nasty coathanger, and may break someone's neck one day if he keeps on playing.

James McOnie claimed on today's Short Ball podcast that the Chiefs have already filled their squad for 2019.

@tim That's really nice to hear for guys who hoped to play for a Chiefs' contract during Mitre 10 Cup. I'm afraid it's not much different at other franchises.

Hell, I hope that is wrong. The Chiefs franchise has lost far too many players offshore in past couple of years. That certainly will not help. Funny that no signings have been announced...

A big rumour doing the rounds in and around the Blues is that Akira Ioane and possibly his brother Reiko will be playing for the Hurricanes in 2019,I have received this information from a very credible source that I have received info from in the past.

I am totally hoping for once this information is incorrect, but having spoken to someone else within the organisation,it’s not that far off the mark.

@steven-harris Couldn't blame them. I'd want to move to a franchise with better coaching and prospects of winning something (like a game or two per season).

The Blues decided not to fix anything. They shouldn't be surprised if people want to leave.

@antipodean speaks volumes about how rotten this organisation is from the top down..I had been sitting on this info for about a week, and I have asked around to verify its authenticity..had 3 other people confirm it.

The reaction should be interesting when this comes out. Hopefully Plumtree can work his magic on Akira.

I have to say I believe the rumour of the Ioanes both going. If they were staying they would have announced it by now.

If confirmed officially, I'm sure players like Vince Aso, Wes Goosen & Jonah Lowe will be very happy with the news. Not!

Can't wait for the media to spin this as "Tana cleaning house. Out go the troublemakers."

Meanwhile the NZRU couldn't give a shit as 1.8M people (growing by 50k per year) lose their last remaining shit to give about this appalling franchise.

Imagine being awesome and having to play for the blues....

Deadset, I will be getting Hurricanes odds as soon as they come out next season if these two sign.
