given he was not originally contracted to the Chiefs, and we had heard the chiefs roster was full, if they wanted him would they have had to get special dispensation from NZR or release someone else to make room?
Bit of a coup for the Blues though given he would likely have had offers on the table form other franchises too, he has come form nowhere into the ABs and captured some hearts along the way with his story.

NZ squads need to find a total of 15 SR quality 10's. The bottom third of that list doesn't look great..
Gatland might develop but he looks limited. Ioane probably spooked the Highlanders coaches with that recent shocker at fullbackThey could hope another one turns up in the NPC
Why would Quade do it? I thought his really expensive contract continues until the end of next season? Is that over? If he wants to make the RWC his best option would be moving to the Rebels or Brumbies.

Highlanders fans should certainly be worried at this stage about their options at pivot.
I suggested on another thread that Josh McKay could see game time at 10 for Canterbury this year which if it were successful would benefit the Highlanders.

Don't know why Mitch Hunt doesn't try and go to the Highlanders. He's wasting his time at the Crusaders.

@tim aren't a lot of options in Canberra. A player that's willing to come would be accepted with open arms. Especially one with Test experience.
