Is this the same play ranking we took the piss out of last year or is it a different one?

        @Nepia Yes, it is.

As has been discussed in another thread before, that Rugbypass rating system is totally useless.

This is their top 10 of Super Rugby first five-eighths and a few others in the ranking. You can immediately see that there's something badly wrong with it:

        1 Mo'unga
        2 BB
        3 Pollard
        4 Brett Cameron
        5 Jackson G-B

        6 Foley
        7 du Preez
        8 Mitch Hunt
        9 Marty Banks
        10 Domingo Miotti (Jaguares)
        31 Hayden Parker
        33 Beaudein Waaka

Cameron has played 87 minutes of SR, and 6 minutes last year.
JG-B has played 48 minutes this year, 86 minutes last year, and we know he is seriously shit.
There's no way that these two players have been more influential than some of their lower ranked colleagues.

Miotti has played 78 minutes of SR. He made his debut this year and yes, played very well, but seriously, a higher rating than guys like Quade Cooper, Leali'ifano, Jean-Luc du Plessis and Hayden Parker?

And Hayden Parker is only rated 31st (out of a total of 48 first five-eighths)?

Beaudein Waaka has played zero SR and is in the rating?

Well, I guess it's a positive they have finally removed TJ Va'a ...

I had a quick look at other positions, and they aren't any better.

@booboo I think Joaquín Díaz Bonilla is their first choice, with Santiago González Iglesias as his back-up, but SGI has also started a few games iirc.

JG-B must be being procted in case needed for trhe All Blacks as he made neither the Hurricanes Development Team nor his Club's Premier team this weekend. Either that or possibly neither of those coaches wanted him. Stargazer will be able to fill us in with details should he be in the "not available for selection beacuse of injury" category.
Incidentally TJ Va'a will probably be back on the list as he payed halfback for Wainuimoata on Saturday. Incidentally. for Nepis's information, Marvan Karawana managed to make their bench.

@Higgins Va'a has moved to Halfback permanently aparently which could prove highly beneficial to his career opportunities down the track. He seems too small for 1st five but has a fairly good skillset that could take him places. There are next to no halfbacks coming through the Wellington system atm apart from Harken so i'd say he has been shoulder tapped to move there.

Two interesting things to ponder on here. i) What has happened to all the money pissed away on the much heralded Carlos Price and ii) will those responsible for signing up Va'a as a first five whilst still at school come under serious questioning from rank and file financial members of the WFRU's constituent clubs if he is now not deemed to be good enough as a first five.

From what I have heard whispered the WRFU might have already signed up (starting 2020) a half back that played Mitre10 Cup for another province for between 2015-17 and is currently playing up in Japan. Not much incentive for any local halfbacks, Va'a included, if that is true.

@African-Monkey he was hopeless in the pre season game against the Crusaders earleir this year. Knocked the ball on three times at the base of the scrum from my count and that was only 30 mins of play.

@Canes4life Did he get caught in posession from the base at all? That was usually a specialty of his as well.

@Higgins if I recall I thought I saw Carlos Prices name playing for a club team in Hamilton he’s definitely not in any Wellington’s club teams lists.

                                    @Nepia Yes, it is.

As has been discussed in another thread before, that Rugbypass rating system is totally useless.

This is their top 10 of Super Rugby first five-eighths and a few others in the ranking. You can immediately see that there's something badly wrong with it:
JG-B has played 48 minutes this year, 86 minutes last year, and we know he is seriously shit.

Well, I guess it's a positive they have finally removed TJ Va'a ...

Bummer, I was hoping Toala would sign with the Chiefs.
