Crazy thing is if you look at most top sports leagues, the designs are simple (NFL, NBA, most soccer/football kits), so it's not as if they are following trends with these designs. -

It seems to be mostly Rugby teams who try to out ugly each others Jreseys. I think the trend stated in Europe, France especially.
Stad Francais are world ugly Jersey champions several times over I think.
I could go on but I may have over stayed my welcome. -

I could go on but I may have over stayed my welcome.@Daffy-Jaffy I was watching the History of rugby and the Stades owner said he wanted to make rugby more like entertainment and make it appeal to women hence the colour.

I'm a jets fan (for my sins), and they released a new Jersey this year that was basically a slightly different shade of green with a white stripe on each shoulder. Fan base likes the green, but still thinks the jerseys are hideous.
Fans hate change.

I had to google to see when you last held the Shield. Seems like you might have attracted a "Curse of the Bambino" due to your disgraceful conduct as shield holders!
You might need to have an exorcism at Okara Park - send offerings to Otago and Southland, summon and worship Laurie Mains, sacrifice a few virgins if you can find them...that sort of thing!
