Not good enough.
Leaked too many points in the first half.
Didn't capitalize on opportunities in the second.
All in all, played a bit too conservatively. Didn't get the ball in the hands of our biggest weapons enough.
Too many weights - not enough speed work.

That was a good game of rugby (although I'm not sure how I would have felt about it if we'd lost). I assume it was a decent watch for the neutrals?

Well played Hawkes Bay. Muscled up well in forwards. Ta$man got closer than I expected. Played too much in their forwards though with a few not having enough in the tank at times. Renton and Segner pretty good. But Parsons was best lock on the park today and Mikaele Tuu a big threat all day. Enari great too

@nepia yeah I didn't mind it. Esp seeing Ta$man lose. Hardly a neutral when Waikato get a shot at it if the Bay won.

Is the extra game a shield challenge against Waikato (it's not showing in the Tribe app).
We'll have to play like demons, not only is the shield at stake but we're just above you in 3rd for most shield match wins.

Boom! Another Ranfurly Shield win. Only one more challenge to go this year.
Pretty hard and fast game, some controversial decisions (especially the non-yellow card for Parkinson and/or Tu'ungafasi), and the good guys won! The players will feel very sore after this game, but at least the Magpies will have a bonus point Shield win to ease the pain. Ta$man literally got nothing out of this game. Good times.
Mikaele-Tu'u was my MotM. He was awesome; miles better than Frizell & other Ta$man loosies. Also a good game from Flanders, Parsons & Cridge (two of the most underrated players in NZ), Enari, McClutchie, to name a few. Some great hits from Sapsford (although I always hold my breath when he tackles, because he has a tendency to tackle high).
Parkinson, Makalio and Renton were good for the Mako, as was Hunt's boot and Tavatavanawai.
Hope all the walking wounded are alright. Quinten Strange looked like he may have played his last game of the season.
