I am sure Taylor and Stead are having that conversation. He deserves to end playing at home in front of family and friends. I'd give him both tests against the Bangles.

It’s only the Bangles in New Zealand. Sure they might tour here enough for each team member to have gained permanent residency but they’re still a) away from home and b) shit.

He should be much more comfortable to go out with a bang.

history is littered with great players having one last great innings left in them even when actually past it

Give him the home series and tell him it's time to go no matter what the output

    Thanks Ross you fucking legend.

That guy Bradman fucked that theory up, only needed a few to get the average over a hundred and messed it up completely.

    Loser.

Ageless wonder - Ross Taylor sets sights on 2023 World Cup

This is only a year (or one bad series in India) ago - depending on how you look at it.

He might make the ODI squad, his ODI performances have held up better than tests.

@godder Indicative that he might not be quite ready to shuffle off just yet.

But, if he lost his test spot, he'd still be quite a long way from the CWC for someone seen to be in obvious decline.

Yup. What he wants and what he gets may not be the same thing. You can't beat father time

that's a throwback Black Caps result. Embarrassingly flogged with only our spinner showing some backbone...

Look winning in India has always been really fucking hard, and even more so now. But after that fucking pasting the opportunities not taken in the first test look even worse.

Yep. Where are all the fucking retards who were happy to play for a draw in the first test because we were more of a chance in the second?

Just here! Although I never wanted to play for a draw, I was just happy to eek out a draw thinking as we had lost the toss it was an OK result and also thought we stood a better chance in Mumbai,,,,

what would our chance look like if we batted first though? Probably not rolled for 62
