That's ridiculously harsh. That was a tough catch off a shit kick.

Nope, it was a good kick and he had it.

He was cleaned up easily and right into touch. Could have made more ground and recycled.

Yeah I have no problem with him not scoring, but he just got bundled into touch despite having loads of space to work with costing us a golden opportunity. Was such a poor bit of rugby, barely club level stuff.

To be far momentum was lost when JB hesitated and threw a bounce pass.
Not much any winger could do it you have to stop and wait for the bounce then try to beat the cover tacklers from a standing start.

Are you really claiming there was nothing he could do but be bundled into touch?

Yes not much he could do, unless he spouted wings poor pass by JB was the problem.

He couldn't just.. cut back inside? Lol

Can't agree but there you go

I though bridge did well too, dropped that under pressure but caught everything else, bounce off a bloke for the first sign off strength this season and got back to cover lots of balls when Jordie seemed to be miles away, solid I though

    Samisoni, Smith, Cane for me.

Difficult to see why Savea and Akira have both picked up more votes than Cane. They're highlights packages player. Shame when we were getting monstered in the loose they were usually standing out on the wing.

    Samisoni, Smith & Rieko.

Cane and Coles the next closest.

Cane and Akira were both stationed on either wing, with Savea in the middle - so clearly a gameplan thing. At halftime, when the coaches changed that, Akira was in the middle carting the ball up with ST. Was very effective, and begs the question why not start in tight and earn the right to put the flankers out wide?

@kirwan we aint in the business of earning the right to go wide, we expect to be able to do that from the outset!

Of those 3, if you gonna have someone trucking it up the middle out of those 3, it aint Ardie!

Yeah, I'd have Akira in the middle too. Or working in pairs, whatever.

Akira is a better passer than Ardie, and used in the backs alot with the Blues (like with Robinson), but it feels like a last 20min strategy than a first minute one. Wastes him on defence too.

exactly, it bugs the hell out of me when i see loosies/hookers standing on the wing watching a ruck a few meters away form them get turned over because "is the gameplan"...was losing the ball the gameplan too?

@kirwan Ardie is better in those wider channels where he will have one oon ones to bust through a tackle, in the middle with more traffic he is less effective, although sometimes when Ardie gets his leg drive going he might bust through but ends up ahead of his cleaners and gets isolated.

Ardie also needs to play 7, or sit on the bench for 60.
