@Bovidae yep, no arguments with her winning, and to be fair, couldn't argue with any of the award winners, mightn't all be in my sports, but pretty deserving anyway.

Halberg's time again, and Lydia Ko won the Supreme Award (interestingly all the nominees were female). I agree with this, as GOAT as Carrington is, canoe is pretty niche compared to golf.

I think Kerr's achievement is the best - the field is so large to win gold is extraordinary. Like sprinting, it's something tried everywhere by basically all kids - so to get up for a track and field gold in a category like that is amazing.

Also, kind of cool it's the middle word of the Olympic motto (which should probably actually be something around graft, cash, corruption; but that's another story)

I was hoping that Andrews got some recognition but Ko is a good choice too.

Stoked that Ko got it. Very well deserved after a truly phenomenal year.

As for Kerr....meh! I was hoping for James McDonald but knew it would be unlikely.

@Machpants Delighted for Lyds. Loved her phlegmatism and humility last year after winning the Olympic Gold and the Women's Open within two weeks of each other.
