Another five day effort phoned in under Stead and Latham.

Stead needs to go ASAP, he's completely bereft of any fresh ideas or innovation, woeful tactically, and his selections are reliably safe and conservative. He's a stale out of touch boomer who's possibly the most uninteresting individual and least inspirational coach you could find in NZ. Mike Hesson did a much better job with considerably less experienced and far weaker squads with a lot less depth within NZ cricket at the time.

Openers Latham & Young only contributed a very pathetic 4 runs combined in this test, absolute bloody shocker !

We've played very erratically this year in test series against both the Bangla's & South Africa... with tests played over 5 days most of the game is about patience whether batting or bowling, but we haven't showed a lot of that at all.

After the Bangladesh series, you'd have thought that the team would have been very conscious of trying to produce a consistent effort

With that loss, basically we need to run the table at home against Sri Lanka, and away against Pakistan and England. 7 tests to go, it's possible - but very very unlikely.

Saw this here, thought it was a really good summary of the chances of getting to the next WTC final

I don't see us making it. The significance of the achievement to win the first test championship should now be very clear. We were so consistent for a long time

              Series drawn 1-1.

Seriously, what is the fucken point, even a one off test has more riding on it ! Would it kill us to have an extra test against both our foes so far this year ?

We should get awarded the series though since we wasted them way more in our victory than they did with their victory.

Interesting to see some of the excuses/reasons appearing on social media for the 2-2 summer (mainly Williamson, plus Boult for the SA series). It's not like Bangladesh toured here with Shakib al-Hasan, or the South Africans were at full strength and with no recent retirements themselves...

Don't think your World Ranking could handle getting done at home TBH. Losing at home to 5th and 9th isn't healthy.

We were so erratic, I've become accustomed to a more consistent BCs performance. Kane's absence must be part of it. I don't think we suffered much in Boult's absence, we could have won both games that we lost if the batsmen had pulled their fingers out

Thanks to Boucher and Graeme Smith the Proteas develope the old habit of fighting back after a loss. We saw this against India and now again. England don't had this in the Ashes. But both (Smith and Boucher) have to explain this to CSA.

                              Hope they survive this.

South African cricket is healthy with lots of Youngs like Baby AB Tristan Stubbs and Ethan Bosch coming through our cricket dyructures.

Sadly there isn't a 3rd test so we'll have to wait another 4 years against our rugby rival.

jesus the series averages are a bit sick aye?

Park Cricket Colin gets an A for 183 runs at 92
Bs for Nicholls, Blundell and Conway

                                  Mitchell gets a D

Jamieson, Latham and Young get fucking Fs. Great big fucking Fs. Barely a run between them. rubbish

With the ball Henry , Wags and Southee get As
C for Jameison and park cricket colin

We took 39 wickets at good averages. This one is on the top 5 in the 2nd test.
