Starter for 10 (RIP Bamber), Los Puma will be looking for a new coach.

All Blacks too, hopefully. What chance we win our 2 games in the republic?

I'm bloody well owed a Boks game and night out here in NZ, a bit pissed that both games are in SA!

doffing my cap to Mario Ledesma, it can't have been easy but he seemed a genuine bloke. Beaten some top sides as player, assistant coach, and head coach. Not sure what this means for TSF favourite, Michael Cheika. Perhaps gives him time to prepare for an upcoming Beagles Boy movie.

@mariner4life I think thats always been the case, despite all the posturing from SARU.

I've always thought adding such a travel burden would ruin the atmosphere of the 6N, which always has huge numbers of travelling fans (although Covid is assisting there)

                    https://www.nzherald.co.nz/sport/rugby-all-blacks-set-for-rare-midweek-game-in-first-bledisloe-cup-clash-against-wallabies/PDJMIULGSWQZNOL2JDWRFIPRA4/

The first match in the two-test series is set to be confirmed for Thursday, September 15, with a potential clash with the NRL and AFL finals prompting the move.

The match was initially intended to be played on a Saturday night but the Sydney Morning Herald reported that Rugby Australia this week proposed the schedule change and received a tick of approval from New Zealand Rugby.

The shift was necessitated by changes made this year to the Rugby Championship schedule, with the traditional two Bledisloe Cup tests moved from their normal August window to mid-September.

That caused a clash with Australia's other oval-ball codes, with the NRL and AFL both staging finals matches during the month. The clash was exacerbated by the Bledisloe Cup test being played in Melbourne, with Rugby Australia contractually locked in to the city after Covid-19 restrictions prevented a deal to play there in 2020.

The original September 17 date will play host to the AFL preliminary final at the MCG, potentially featuring the Melbourne Demons, while an NRL semifinal on September 19 could see the Melbourne Storm playing at AAMI Park.

With AFL and NRL finals also set to be played on Friday, September 16, the SMH reported that left Rugby Australia with little choice but to move the Bledisloe Cup match to midweek for the first time in 28 years.

Both the All Blacks and the Wallabies have the previous weekend off so there will be no concern about a tight turnaround for the players. The second Bledisloe Cup test will be played on September 24 at Eden Park, nine days later.

                                    All fixtures have been confirmed.

Each team will still play six matches comprising three home matches and three away matches, and will play each team twice. However, each team will host a two-match tour, will play an away two-match tour and a one-match home and away series against the third team. For example, in 2022 New Zealand will host Argentina for two consecutive matches, will play two consecutive matches in South Africa and will play Australia once at home and once away. This format will see the two-match 'mini tour' home and away hosting rotate over a two-year period. Australia and New Zealand will always play a split home and away series, as will South Africa and Argentina.

I forgot there was no extra Bled.

FFS the web dude at allblacks.com needs a slapping. So there is only one Bled, and it is not part of the RC? They both should be in one or the other. And could they fucking put them in chronological order!

The first two rounds will probably decide the winner.

@Machpants Indeed, that table on the official website is awful. Amateurs!

Just in case it still needs clarification, both tests beween NZ and Australia are part of the RC, and both are for the Bledisloe Cup.

It's correct that they've reduced the number of Bledisloe Cup tests from three to two though.
