@canefan If he could have just held that position, with the DQs - he'd have leapt up to 4th - collected 12 points and Yuki Tsunoda would be buried.

He's a bit frustrating to support!

He told his team he stuffed up. From what I can gather Russell jammed on his brakes in front of him and he swerved on cold tires into Oscar. All other parts of his game are coming together. But he needs to be able to stay out of trouble at the start of races

@canefan He seems to have found quite a variety of ways to thwart himself from scoring points.

I'm somewhat optimistic that he's got the inside running on Tsunoda given the shift away from Honda engines, but Liam has kept him in the race when the door could have been slammed shut in recent weeks.

He's outperformed Tsunoda on the track. He lacks the financial clout though, if Honda decide to buy Yuki's seat again Liam will be out. Seems unlikely because they have moved on. Rumour has it Yuki might move to one of the Honda powered IRL teams

@Chris-B yeah, definitely frustrating. Always in a tangle, more often than not from over extending himself up the inside.

    Phrasing.

Liam delivers in crunch time. Starts 12th on the grid, finishes 9 so in the points

Ted Kravitz of Sky TV has reported that Liam Lawson has retained his Racing Bulls seat for 2026, Yuki is out, Linblad has been promoted from F2 and Hadjar will join Max. Apparently it has not been made official from RB but Ted has his ears in the paddock

@canefan Seems like several articles around suggesting Liam's going to survive.

Tsonoda has had five seasons in F1 without ever making much impression. This season is the most points he's scored and Liam looks likely to finish ahead of him. Liam's had five DNFs compared to Tsonoda's one - so, if he can finish more races next year he looks to be a better bet - notwithstanding the difficulties for Yuki driving the Red Bull car.

@Chris-B that's really interesting about Tsunoda this year - it felt like the worst season he's had!

@Bones He picked up 12 points in the sprint races - so that probably helps create that impression.

So 38 points for Liam in the big races compared with 21 for Tsunoda.

Some Dutch guy reckons he's had the word that Liam is surviving and lots of reports on that report!

Visa Cash App Racing Bulls confirm Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad for 2026 F1 driver line-up | Talk Motorsport

Visa Cash App Racing Bulls have announced that Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad will form the team’s official driver lineup for the 2026 FIA Formula 1 World

It's official, Liam will get another year to give em a taste of Kiwi!

Super happy for Liam and that was the main thing for me. Isack has been excellent this year, but part of me wonders if they should have given him another year to continue to develop before throwing him into the deep end, the same can be said for Lindblad. If those decisions backfire maybe Yuki is there just in case. For Liam, he will be the senior in the garage and hopefully this means he gets the best of the team strategy provided he drives well enough to earn it. Either way he gets another year in F1 and a chance to show his ability against the best
