@gt12 It's pretty obvious from my previous posts that I'm not disputing that Mafileo and Numia weren't playing well. I'm disputing that they were picked ahead of PRS because of his form (or lack of it). PRS never got enough minutes - for reasons that I can't post here - to develop match fitness and form (the Canes didn't release him to play club rugby either), and was therefore never able to get ahead of them. He was first choice LH prop for most of the 2022 season and was named the Magpies' best forward of the year and player of the year for a very good reason. Maybe read my posts again and read between the lines, and you may get a hint of the nature of the problem.

I am reading between the lines; you are essentially slandering Chris Gibbes. I'd like to know why.

You are intimating that PRS is not being selected for a non-rugby reason (without any proof), which suggests that Gibbes is unprofessional and the Canes will be better to see the back of him. What part of this am I getting wrong?

PRS did start off as starting prop in 2022. I thought it was Numia but his form wasn't good in SR in 2022. This year it was VG. Mafilio started in the quarter final with PRS as the replacement
There are other players where there are rumours (that's all it is) that they are not being selected for whatever reason. Like Higgins. It maybe true or maybe not. Birds another example. Lakai also fell out of favour. Whereas Iose was in favour when I wouldn't start him with Flanders (lacks balance).
I think the current coaches selected players for reasons other than performance on the field. My view is it didn't apply to PRS. It did with other players. Like Blackwell and prinsep
But thankfully we have new coaches next year. Hopefully selection out of step with the majority of fans stop
