Does anybody have a list of the current Hurricanes Wider Training Group only ..?

@Steven-Harris The Canes have, unfortunately, never published such a list. We have just spotted players on social media. If you go back in this thread, you'll find names.

@Stargazer said in Hurricanes 2023: Oh no, I really hope this is a photo from last year and that Jacob Devery hasn't re-injured the same knee. I dunno but holy shit that legs red

A Canes legend.

@Canes4life said in Hurricanes 2023: Legend. Indeed. I'm sure he'll be playing club rugby on the wing for a few years yet.

I'm not sure he'll be apart of the WC squad but it will be cool to have him play for the Wellington Lions for one more campaign to help defend the Shield.

What's the point in a pre-season game when the majority of those players won't even be squad players when the season kicks off properly? Odd.

@Canes4life Depth, for when injury strikes?

Odd. 7 of the starting 15. Seems odd but I guess they just want to see what they look like at this level. Likely to only get half a game and then the eligible players get a run in the 2nd half Hurricanes team to play the Blues:
2 Leif Schwenke 28 yr old Manawatu hooker
3 Pasilio Tosi Ops Full time contract
5 Josh Taula Young Manawatu lock at 2.03m and 114kg, from Canterbury.
 11 Solomone Naiduki ???
12 Matt Whaanga The 24-year-old is looking forward to being back in the Southland colours again
13 Kyle Brown 7/7/2020 Kyle Brown – Feilding High School.
15 Harry Godfrey Young HB back

His body seems to be close to finished for top level rugby now. But hope he is Ok for one last super rugby (and maybe the ABs). But Aumua is the future so need to select him as the number 1 this year, Coles as his backup. Hnadle Coles carefully so he is available for the finals

@Bovidae said in Hurricanes 2023: Some regular players could be injured or carrying niggles so aren't available. Note that Sullivan, PUJ and Proctor aren't listed so they are short on midfielders. PUJ is out for some time I think. So makes sense to try a few midfielders in these games I area they haven't is the back row. Plenty of players here
